Why is this theme important?

The strategic analysis on ‘Safety practices and the digital transition’ examines issues that lie at the intersection of new, deep learning tools and new communication technologies, safety management practices, and knowledge about social, organizational and human factors

The group will address the certification and asssurability of systems based on software ‘black boxes’, organizational dimensions of explicability challenges, and the respective roles and responsibilities of operators, system designers, component suppliers and safety authorities.

Methodology

Strategic analysis is a working methodology developed by the Foncsi. It aims to ensure high-level research over a particularly short period (18-24 months), and to establish a continuum of innovation between research and industry.

There are four key stages:
